Thousand Island Dressing:
  • Garlic - 1 clove , chopped
  • Mayonnaise - 1/3 cup
  • Ketchup - 1 1/2 Tbsp
  • Sweet pickle relish - 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp
  • Paprika - 1/4 tsp
Big Mac Salad:
  • Onions, medium and red - 1/2 , diced
  • Lettuce, romaine - 2 hearts , chopped
  • Tomatoes, medium - 2 , chopped
  • Oil, cooking - 1 Tbsp
  • Beef, ground - 1 lb
  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Cheese, shredded cheddar - 1 cup
  • Croutons, store-bought - 1 1/2 cups

Prep

  1. Onions - Dice onions. (Can be done up to 5 days ahead)

  2. Make dressing - Chop garlic. Combine garlic, mayonnaise, ketchup, pickle relish, lemon juice, and paprika. Season with some salt and pepper. (Can be done up to 5 days ahead)

  3. Lettuce / Tomatoes - Prep as directed.

Make

  1. Heat a large skillet with oil over medium-high heat. Add onions and ground beef and cook, breaking the beef apart until cooked through, 6 to 8 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper and cook for a minute more, until everything is evenly seasoned. Set the ground beef aside to cool slightly.

  2. Assemble the salads with a base of lettuce topped with tomatoes, cheese, croutons, and ground beef. Top with thousand island dressing. Enjoy!
