Roasted Green Beans
Roasting brings out sweet and nutty flavors from green beans, which are topped with a citrusy za'atar spice blend.
Smarts: Make sure to dry the green beans very well to ensure they get crispy and brown in the oven.
- Green beans, fresh - 1 lb, trimmed
- Parchment paper - for roasting
- Oil, olive - 1 1/2 Tbsp
- Salt - 1/4 tsp (omit if your za'atar has salt in it)
- Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Za'atar - 1 tsp
- Lemon - 1/4, wedges
Heat oven to 425F / 218 C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make sure green beans are very dry (to ensure crispy beans), and place them on baking sheet. Toss with oil, salt and pepper and spread out in a single layer.
Roast green beans for 15-20 minutes, until lightly browned, tossing halfway through.
Serve green beans hot from the oven, topped with za'atar and a squeeze of lemon. Enjoy!
